
If you had read our last post about the OTR Conference, you would have known that February was an eventful month. A month that took us to beautiful Sicily, where we had the chance to perform training on the Monaflex Tire Repair System. The chance presented itself thanks to the sale of one of these systems to repair Agri tires, which included the installation service.
In the five days spent in Sicily, we covered kilometers, going from the Palermo province to the Messina one, from Ragusa to Siracusa, and passing through Catania. Kilometers to which you have to add the ones covered from Rovereto. Our was a real “on the road” trip. An adventure from which we came home fully satisfied, besides being packed with sweets, focaccia, arancini, chocolate, and tomatoes. The Sicilian hospitality warmed our hearts, despite the cold weather we incurred into.
Going back to the Monaflex repair system, since the moment we became an official distributor for Italy, we had a big project: introducing this product and training as many tire repairers as possible. We started step by step, as explained in our article Repairing to be environmental-friendly. Last summer, Pablo visited some customers in central Italy, where he understood that the potential for this product was tied tightly to our country’s vocation for agriculture. Despite the decrease this sector has been suffering (also due to the pandemic), our geography enables Italy to still be in the top countries for production value (data source Istat https://www.istat.it/it/files/2021/05/REPORT-ANDAMENTO-ECONOMIA-AGRICOLA_2020.pdf). Therefore, if agriculture still has a notable impact on the Italian economy, it means there must be many Agri-vehicles used. Vehicles requiring Agri tires which have significant prices and are often injured (due to some hard soils), requiring repairs. The best solution for both the environment and the budget is to repair these agri-tires. Repairing an agricultural tire is still a hand-craft job. Not many people can perform it, but it could be very profitable. For these reasons, the potential for the Monaflex Agri system is tremendous.
As above-mentioned, we cannot stop at the mere sale of the system, but it is necessary to offer a complete package: staff training and tools kit. A service dedicated to people already dealing with tire repair and to people keen on doing it. We believe it is indisputable that seeing with our own eyes and speaking directly with the users is the best way to give the most suitable suggestions.

We visited retreaders who have been working in Sicily for generations. In some cases, the new generation is taking the reins bringing new ideas into a business field that struggles to be understood.
We visited tire service companies, where fathers and sons and brothers and sisters were working side by side to grow their businesses and give their best to the customers.
We saw our products being used and our catalogs being browsed in the search for new tools that could make a difference in their jobs.
We listened to stories, lives, and dreams. We created bonds we want to cultivate because our mission is to have happy and satisfied customers.
